Replacing Toner Cartridge in a Brother Printer
Running low on toner in your Brother printer and having trouble installing the new toner? Your Brother laser printer tells you toner is running out. When the output quality of your Brother printer is not looking just like it used to, changing the cartridge may make a world of difference. Replacing a toner cartridge in a laser printer is essential for good-quality prints and is part of regular maintenance. Stick to the steps below to learn how to change the toner cartridge at the first signs of fading or fuzzy copies.
Buy a Replacement Toner Cartridge
To begin with, find out which model of cartridge your laser printer uses. Within brands there can be sub-types for various printer styles.Some models come in two sizes, one for lower page yields and another for higher. Naturally, there is a price difference with the latter costing more money, but the advantage is that it will last longer and postpone a shopping trip for a replacement. Whatever you ultimately choose, don't forget, while you have ordered the new printer toner, don't open the package until you're ready to discard the existing one.
Taking the Old Cartridge Out
Suppose that you already bought a suitable replacement, you won't be able to install the new toner cartridge if the old cartridge is still inside. Taking the printer toner cartridge out may be the quick lesson on how to place the new one inside. Refer to the guide book if you do not want to take any risks or slowly test out ways on how to take out the toner. Just be gentle when moving sophisticated parts like the toner even if it is empty so you won't breakdown any components by mistake.
The standard process starts with you opening the cover so you can see the toners cartridges. Keep an eye on the toner to see if there are any clips that are holding the cartridge in place. If you are not sure what to do with these clips or hooks, refer to the manual. Look around the toner for any marks that serve as manuals on how you should hold the toner. Slowly remove these clips and take care not to get any printer ink on your fingers.
Putting the new Toner Cartridge In
Take a new Brother toner cartridge out from the box and shake it gently. Remove the protecting tape. Fit the new cartridge into the Brother laser printer and align the cartridge along with the arrows. Push down gently to make sure it is secured into place.
