Terms and Conditions done electronically for auto service?
I had an idea for a way of obtaining authorization to perform services and agreement to our indemnity statement without the need for printed-out forms. We are mobile, meaning we do all work on-site, and use iPads to conduct daily business. On the iPad, before performing any work, we require the customer to read and electronically sign the terms and conditions agreement that is hosted on our website. The language of the agreement is effective, it's been before a judge and held for us. We normally carried a stack of the forms with us; if this could be done electronically it would save a lot of time, money, and trees! My question is, will doing this electronically hold up as much as a traditional hard copy? Is an electronic signature considered the same as an old-fashioned ink pen signature on a piece of paper?
